The Marine Corps Family Support Community began as a small Moms & Dads group in Central Ohio. We have since grown into not just a local organization, but have chapters and friends across the state as well as members from around the country. We send many care packages, have over 200 "pen pals", and are receiving more inquiries about our organization every day.
We know that most of us as parents are caught in the "sandwich generation". Our children are growing up, becoming Marines, going off to college, entering high school, etc., while our own parents are needing us more and more.As Marine husbands and wives, we find ourselves facing deployments at an ever increasing rate it seems, and we find ourselves looking to give and receive support to get us through those busy days and lonely nights while our loved ones are in harm's way. We are often taking care of our little ones while trying to work and maintain our families for the day when our Marines come home.
We also see the ever increasing numbers of Wounded Warriors of all branches of services. Their lives are changed in one instant and it can affect the rest of their lives.
It's hard to find the time to do everything we need to get done in any given day. MCFSC has many fine volunteers who actively give day in and day out to help make this organization a place of support and comfort. We need more volunteers to help us meet the ever-growing needs of current members and those future members who have yet to find us (or even know they need us yet!)
This page is devoted to Volunteer "Job Openings" within MCFSC. If you have a few hours a week, or more, or less--if you have ANY time that you can give to us, it would be greatly appreciated. The pay? Hard Work and a WHOLE lot of satisfaction that you are sharing your "been there, done that" experience with someone that can really make a difference in their lives. If you have any interest in any position listed here, contact Carol Michel at cmichel@mcfscoh.org or Roger Bock at rbock@mcfscoh.org.
